Meet Chris Dahlmann
Chris Dahl was born in 1967 in Munich. His first sporting career was sailing. At the age of five he began practising water sports, where he obtained various victories in his youth in different boat categories. At the age of sixteen he began teaching sailing to children at his sailing club on Lake Chiemsee. After high school graduation Chris´s parents emmigrated to Florida. In the United States golf was a very popular sport and so Chris began another sporting challenge – GOLF. After several years as a sailing and windsurfing instructor, and chief of station in several European countries, as well as instructor of sailing and surfing instructors for VDWS, Chris began in 1997 his three year PGA training program at Castrop-Rauxel golf club in Germany. He graduated as one of the best of his year. At that time the German PGA training program was completely modernized. He received training and was examined in five different areas:
sports science, biomechanics and kinesiology, golf and technology demonstration, green keeping, golf course design, club repairs and fittings, tournament organization, club management and pro-shop management. In addition he had to pass a PAT (Playing Ability Test). To further his education Chris has taken and passed the C-and B licenses with the German Golf Association. He has also reached the current graduation levels G2 of the PGA of Germany.
Since 2001 he has been teaching at the beautiful Novo Sancti Petri Golf Club where he can combine his teaching with his water sports hobby. In order to keep at the forefront of the latest teaching methods Chris has studied various teaching methods such as the TGM (The Golfing Machine), Morad (Mac O Grady Research and Development), and is a member of several golf forums in the USA.
He is pleased that he doesn´t have to teach just theory of golf, but can combine this with his communication skills accumulated over his years of teaching.
"I teach ... not just one method, but develope each student's individual swing. I would be very happy to see you again soon and to teach you personally at the Novo Sancti Petri golf academy. No matter what golfing problems you might have I would be happy to work on it together with you and help you to improve your game.”
