Gunther was born in 1965 in Stuttgart and he discovered the game of golf in his youth. He started his training as an assistant golf professional at the age of twenty at Reichenbach Golf Club, Baden, Germany and in 1989 he moved on to the well known golf club Frankfurt Niederrad where he stayed until 1992. During this time he completed his qualifications to become a fully qualified member of the PGA of Germany, furthered his career and won several Pro-Am competitions.

After a year spent studying at the San Diego Golf Academy (California), he started off his own international golf school in Switzerland, near Zurich. In 1998 he left Switzerland to pursue his personal dream of living and teaching golf in southern Europe. He moved to Chiclana, met his partner, and their son was born here who is already a "true Andalusian".

In his spare time Gunther enjoys cycling, travelling and playing golf! Since 1999 he has worked successfully as a golf teacher at the international golf academy in Novo Sancti Petri, where he teaches in German, English and Spanish and helps his students improve their swing and game. His aim is to help golfers of all levels have fun and enjoy this unique game working with each student as an individual with unique characteristics.

Gunther trains players of all levels - from beginners to scratch golfers, both individually and in groups. His teaching is based on the modern principles of the PGA of Germany, and he places great emphasis on the physical and mental aspects of the game.

Gunther Winker´s goal as a golf pro is to help his students understand his or her golf swing. He looks forward to welcoming you to one of the largest and most beautiful golf resorts in Spain and to our international golf school with its year-round training facilities.
