Golf Course A - Mar & Pinos

In Course A - the popular Mar y Pinos course (Sea and Pine Trees) you will find 4 par-3 holes, 10 par-4 holes and 4 par-5 holes.

The holes 1-9 offer wide fairways and three lakes. The green at hole 6 must be mentioned particularly, since it is situated on the coast. The holes 10-18 are surrounded by stone pines and without water hazards. The first 9 holes are found in spacious fairways allowing you to savour the feeling that you are finally on holiday. The views over beautifully designed water hazards prepare you for our breathtaking hole number 6, with its green located just over a large, sandy beach. In the evening sun "You might just forget to putt", as a golf journalist once said.

Hole 9 leads you past our clubhouse and caddie master to the challenging pine tree round. Here you will have to overcome some natural pine tree hazards. On the other hand, you will not be faced with any water ones.

Local Rules for Mar & Pinos

LOCAL RULES OF PLAY (ROUND A)

1. OUT OF BOUNDS: Out of bounds is defined by reference to railings, metal fences, walls, pillars, white milestones and stakes, etc., which are surrounding the course, including all angled supports. The out of bounds line is determined by the nearest inside points at ground level of the stakes or fence posts.

On the tenth hole of course A, the left edge of the cement path found on its left as well as the fence of the store, are both considered as out of bounds.

2. OBSTRUCTIONS: (Rule 24)

2.1. Movable Obstructions: The stones in the bunkers are considered as obstructions and may be removed. (Rule 24-1)

2.2. Immovable Obstructions:

a) Metal towers from power lines, water pump boxes, sprinklers, benches, monuments, concrete paths, paths made of wooden boards, etc. (Rule 24.2-b)

b) Sprinklers: If a sprinkler located less than two clubs away from the green of the hole being played, is interfering with the line of play, the player may take relief without penalty in the following way: When the ball is not in a hazard or on a putting green and rests within the distance of two clubs from the obstruction which is causing the interference, it can be taken, cleaned and dropped in the nearest point to that in which it was resting as long as it (a) is not nearer to the hole, (b) avoids the interference and (c) is not in a hazard or on a green.

3. GROUND UNDER REPAIRS: Marked by blue lines or stakes. (Rule 25). WATER HAZARDS: Marked by yellow lines or stakes. Lateral water hazards are marked by red lines or stakes. (Rule 26).

4. PROTECTION OF YOUNG TREES: Young trees are considered to be protected when they are marked by guiding poles or are less than a club tall, providing relief from interference according to rule 24.2-b, despite they are not defined as obstructions.

5. DROPPING ZONEHOLE 6 A: when a ball, in bounds, lies unplayable next to the fence behind the 6th green, the player could opt under rule 28 to take relief in the drop zone – white circle -  with one stroke penalty.

6. UNDUE DELAY and SLOW PLAY: In situations of slow play proceed as follows: From the moment of timing a player, he shall not exceed 50 seconds when playing his first  approach shot (including a tee shot on a par 3), chip or putt, or 40 seconds if he makes a tee shot or if he needs to make a second or third shot with the same ball. In such occurences he shall be deemed to have had a "bad timing” or “slow play".

A player whose group is being timed and may cause slow play during the round, may be penalized even if his group may return in position or returns to the time specified for his group.

Penalty for breach of this condition:
First offense: verbal warning from the referee or Marshall
Second offense slow play: 1 stroke penalty
Third offense slow play: 2 stroke penalty
Fourth offense slow play: disqualification

7. All players are reminded that the use of MOBILE PHONES IS FORBIDDEN.  Penalty for breach of this rule is disqualification.

8. The earth patches/flower beds surrounding the olive trees at hole 9 are considered as ground under repairs (Rule 25).

9. EMBEDDED BALL: You can take relief anywhere on the course when the ball is embedded by its own impact.

10. Devices for measuring distances: A player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only, without producing undue delay of the pace of play. If during a stipulated round a player uses a distance measuring device designed to calculate or measure other conditions that might affect his play (fall, wind speed, temperature, etc.) than the player is in breach of Rule 14-3. The penalty is disqualification, regardless of whether the player has used these functions or not.

PENALTY FOR BREACH OF LOCAL RULES: TWO STROKES.

THESE RULES INVALIDATE THOSE OF THE SCORE CARD.

In relation to any possible corrections that may appear in the score cards, the committe will consider the debatable points in article 6.6.B of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation Rules of Golf dated January 1st, 2012 to be settled as long as such corrections are also kept in the scoreboard.
